Corporate Icons Media is an African Cultural and Creative consulting company founded by Lala Tuku that has been operational since 2006. From large scale events the company has has now diversified to include Media, Distribution and Consultancy. The company that specializes in business and support side of content development, project management, communication and Events Management.

A major function of the company is to conceptualize and develop content, produce, direct and manage large scale events. This also looks at Developing Audiences for the African content by exporting and distributing African content both locally and Internationally. In her personal capacity, Lala boasts a career in the television and film space that spans over 15 years serving as Executive Producer on scripted, non-scripted programming, corporate, television and films.

At an executive level she currently serves as the co-chair of the Africa Film Rising International Film Festival as debuted during the Global Citizen Week. Lala has served the film industry at a national level as a Stakeholder Relations manager at the National Film and Video Foundation.

Lala Tuku is a seasoned professional in the creative and communication industry with a passion for the arts that dates over 2 decades. Lala is currently the MD and Executive Producer at Clive Morris Productions (CMP), with a core focus on developing a new business strategy for the company as an industry leader and global competitor. Lala strives to continually understand audience segmentations and preferences to produce award-winning, marketable content.
As an outspoken advocate for women and youth in the south African film and television industry, Lala is co chairperson of Africa Rising International Film Festival. A festival that centers youth and women , giving a platform to their work and creating distribution channel for their films, Audience development is at the heart of the festival and young school children are the focus as attendees. Representation matters and all stories need to been seen and heard. Training and development for the young filmmakers takes center stage Lala served the film industry during her time at the National Film and Video Foundation, an agency of the Department of Arts and Culture, in the CEO’s office in the capacity of a Stakeholder Relations Manager. She was instrumental in harnessing and maintaining industry stakeholder relations within the organizational both locally and internationally, leading successful and effective stakeholder engagements that lead to the NFVFs transformation programme and female and youth filmmaker slate.

Lala is a seasoned planner and strategist who, for 8 years, was the Managing Director of Corporate Icons Entertainment Consultants – a successful Entertainment, Communication, Directing and Consulting company. A major function of the company was to conceptualize and develop brand activations, roadshow content, short-form content, audience participation methods, and to direct and manage large-scale events for corporate and government clients, some of which were for national TV broadcast.

Lala is a trained facilitator and coach specialist and has worked with schools, government and the private sector to assist in training models aimed at improving final output and delivery.

Lala’s wealth of experience comes from having been an active member and contributor in the South African television and arts industry, having seamlessly moved from in front of the camera to behind the scenes, from research and content development to scheduling and final broadcast delivery, and most recently to marketing and distribution of content.

Lala is currently the executive producer on two documentaries Mandela through HER eyes and Hardship and Harmony
